Living situation

Sadie and Linus love to build cities and towns with tall buildings "like where daddy works" and with huge parking lots for the absolutely embarrassing number of cars they have.

And recently they have started to play "house".

They live in the pantry, of course, because it's the only room that has a 5 pound bag of M&Ms. And it has an old-fashioned light bulb with a chain that they can pull on and off. Repeatedly.

The other day I overheard Linus telling Sadie that he was going to be the daddy and she was the mommy. Oh, and they did not have any children - good thing he was up-front about it in case there was any confusion.

I asked him if he and Sadie were married.

And he said, (these are his exact words):

Nope. We're just living together.

Duh.

"I can do it!"

About 6 months ago, the kids insisted on opening the car doors themselves.

I told them to go ahead...never thinking they would actually be able to open the door.

Sometimes they are so ingenious it's scary.

(One of these days the door handle is going to fall off. I just know it.)
